Orangery
The
Orangery was built in 1787, it took 6 years to complete. It was
home to a great collection of orange, lemon and citrus trees. By
the mid eighteenth century the collection was over 100 trees. In
Britain orange trees need protection from the severity of our
winter weather but in the summer months they can stand out of doors
and were used to ornament the formal gardens of the time.
