Volunteer Role Descriptions

Please note: Volunteer Gardening is the open option at present. Covid 19 precautions are in place.

We’re sure that we have a volunteer role to suit a wide range of interests and all abilities.  Feel free to look at our role descriptions below, if you’re interested then applying to be a volunteer is an easy process.

Volunteer Gardener

Based in the historic gardens, get green fingers as a volunteer gardener; tasks include planting, pruning, weeding and sowing seeds. If you’re a keen gardener or want hints and tips for your own garden, becoming a volunteer gardener will provide excellent experience and you can learn from our experienced Head Gardener. 


Volunteer Tour Guide

Based in the historic core of the park, help visitors enjoy the park's historic buildings and gardens, main tasks include: creating tour scripts on different subjects; Conducting tours with small visitor groups around the park's historic buildings and gardens (providing verbal information and highlighting points of interest); Answering questions on the history of the park.
