Margam Park is the jewel in the Neath Port Talbot crown, it is a special place in an industrial heartland. I went to school near the park, it fascinated me as it was a secret garden in private ownership ,all you could do was look at photographs of the place. On retirement nearly three years ago I jumped at the chance to volunteer here. Volunteering here is rewarding, you get out in the open meeting people including foreign visitors.  When I was working I bought a season ticket to the park and my children loved it here. In fact by 2018 both my daughters will have been married in the Orangery. Recently I asked my four year old grandson if he wanted to go to the prom for an ice cream , no he said "I want to go to Margam Park !" (Allan - Tour Guide)
