- Alpaca fleece has very fine fibres and unlike sheep's wool is shiny, hairlike and does not contain any lanolin.
- A baby alpaca is called a ‘cria’, they can weigh just 6-8kg at birth.
- Alpacas can spit, producing not only saliva, but also acidic stomach contents (a smelly, green mix of grass!).
