Annual Deer Rut Safaris:-
The annual deer rut is one of Britain's most exciting autumn wildlife spectacles.
The Park exclusive Rut Safaris offer the chance of a close up first-hand encounter, the parkland provides an ideal location for seeing stags and bucks in battle and gives the chance to follow the action as it unfolds. The autumnal parkland can act as camouflage for the russet-coloured coats of the red deer, but their rutting routine is hard to miss - see the sights, hear the sounds and smell the Autumn!
The safari will allow guests views of Red, Fallow and the lesser known Pere David Deer- the 3 deer species in the Park.
The landrover safaris will be led by John Crannage. John has worked in the Park for many years - his enthusiasm for and knowledge of the Park deer is second to none, he is also able to adapt the tours to cater for specific interests guests may have.
REVIEW BY Tony Barrett to Autumn Deer Rut Safari 6 October
Had a fantastic time this morning on our safari. I must give a massive thank you to John who went the extra mile in the wet weather to ensure everyone had a great time and saw as much of the three breeds of deer on the park as time would permit. My family are regulars at the park and I love taking pictures of the deer and picturesque scenery. The safari allowed me to get really close to the deer and all in the comfort of a warm 4x4. A really amazing and different experience. I would thoroughly recommend booking this event, you will not be disappointed. It would be brilliant if the Park could run more events like this, perhaps during fawning.
