Visiting Margam Country Park with Your Dog

Dogs are allowed in most areas of the park, with just a few exceptions.

Dogs are not permitted in:

• The Main Castle
• Children’s play areas
• The Gift Shop

Lead and Off‑Lead Areas

To keep our wildlife, deer and other visitors safe, please follow these guidelines:

Lead Areas

Please keep dogs on a lead in:

• The Historic Deer Park
• The Formal Gardens
• The Farm Trail
• Charlottes Pantry 
• Visitor Courtyard

Our deer roam freely in the parkland, so dogs must be on a lead and under close control at all times in these areas.

Off‑Lead Areas

Dogs can be off lead but must remain under close control in:

• The Castle Lawns (as far as the farm trail)
• Behind the Castle
• East Lodge Car Park Area
• East Lodge Star Field

Help Us Stay Dog Friendly

We love welcoming dogs, but not all visitors feel the same. Please help us keep the park enjoyable for everyone.

• Pick up after your dog.
  Free dog bags are available at the Entrance Cabin. Please use any park bin. Do not leave bags under bushes or in hedges.

• Keep your dog with you at all times.
  Dogs must not be left unattended anywhere in the park.

Dog Wash Station
