Furzemill Pond
- The enclosed area alongside the train track is Furzemill. It is an area that the deer are excluded from.
- The lake is home to many types of coarse fish with some large grass carp.
- In 2003 the Environment Agency helped remove many of the small fish.
- In the summer the open glades are excellent for spotting butterflies. This is a peacock butterfly.
- The range of vegetation provides many places for birds to nest. Here is a song thrush nest.
