Castle and Gardens

Our Grade I listed 19th Century Tudor Gothic Mansion, built in 1830–40 is as a mansion of exceptional quality. The Castle has some spectacular features, it is currently closed at present as part of our 'Third Stage Opening'.

The gardens feature beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers, classic and modern planting, lakes and long vistas which have evolved since medieval times.

Deer and Wildlife

The famous Margam Deer Herd today roams through approximately 500 acres (200 hectares) of parkland.

Among the more common mammals to be seen are foxes, badgers, hares, grey squirrels, voles and shrews. Moles are abundant on the lower parts of the park, their presence betrayed by molehills.
